Hi everyone,

I am currently involved in a magazine launch campaign for a summer publishing program, and my group has chosen to devote our magazine to military wives and the family members of those in all branches of the military.

We have not seen any good print magazines geared toward this demographic, so we were wondering if any of you could tell us what specific things you would want to see in a magazine for military wives and mothers.

Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated!

Check out Military Spouse Magazine sold in Exchanges/BX/PX, etc.

Everything becomes a little clearer, I realize what life is all about. It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough, It's giving more when you feel like giving up.

I have checked it out and was wondering if there is anything that you think that magazine lacks?

Thanks!

To be totally honest I have not even looked at one in over a year. Someof the other spouses here may be able to give you a better assessment of it.

If you would, email me directly at sgtmom@gmail.com

I've never heard of the Military Spouse Magazine, but next time I go to the PX I'll look for it.

I'm glad you mentioned it though because I have been looking for some sort of military spouse publication. They are hard to find, at least online...

I just want to throw some of my ideas in, even though I don't know what kinds of things are already published.

I'd love to see a magazine for spouses that has news updates (including what's going on overseas and changes within the military), articles that reflect on personal experiences and how to deal, and a section for the new spouse that has no clue what's going on (kind of like myself..).

I've noticed that a lot of military spouse publications are geared towards the E5+ and officers' wives with kids. Now I understand that groups holds the majority, but I feel that everyone else gets overlooked.

I am a young PFC's wife and a full time student. I don't have kids or strong ties to my husband's unit. I participate in the FRG as much as I can, but since I'm "just a Private's wife", I'm typically the last to know anything. Many of the other privates' wives are in a similar situation and are practically cast out and left to the wolves until their spouses gain enough rank and they have enough children to "fit in" with the military spouse crowd.

All-in-all, I'd like to see something that can tie everyone together, not just the officers' wives that have tons of toddlers and looking for babysitter clubs.

I'd have to agree with the previous post, information that is aimed not necssarily at the 'experienced' or the 'families'. My husband an I have no children and at times this fact alone gets us excluded from things and has made fitting in harder. Not all military families come from the same pattern.

If I were making a military spouses magazine i'd be sure to include info that male non-military spouses could use. Whilst i'm not one, I see very little info geared toward them and that must get difficult.
