Why is it that whenever i search for THE S.O.S. that i find a recipe for foreskins on toast? (chipped beef in gravy) Is there not a Navy man from the fifties aboard who has the recipe for the real thing? jerryl1941@rocketmail.com

it's just a spiced cream sauce mixed with either chipped beef or hamburger.... I like the hamburger variant the best.

I found this just by asking google for schit on a shingle...

you can just get some country gravy and some briskets open up the briskets and put the country gravy on top... you know the white gravy... my dads last wife made it out of lard... you can also use ground beef or bits of hamburger or sausage patties or just plain with gravy only...

ah man she use to own a restaurant and she had multi coffee cans full of used lard from her restaurant that she would use to make gravy out of... just nasty i looked in one once and seen flies in it... she said you just filter it out....
