Maybe we shouldn't, but it's sort of in our nature. I am always humbled by encounters like that, but it won't stop me from complaining about the rude cashier or the idiot who cut me off and the mail that was late and that the weather sucks and that I can't get an appointment when I want one and and and and...

I guess human nature isn't made to be all generous and unselfish (is that a word?) 24/7. At times life HAS to be about long lines and waits and gossip, to give our brains time to cool off and take a break from all our big worries and woes that come with our life, be they military related or not...

There is an axiom in the Army Infantry about: "someone's always got it worse..." Deafness in one ear, double amputee, guy with only one hand & arm or any major trauma combination you can care to imagine. Motion challenged veterans still get around. As a vet of both Vietnam and especially as a combat medic from Desert Storm, seeing the survivors of that much battle damage should remind us all of what's really important in our daily lives.
