RE: http://www.military.com/opinio...15202,192040,00.html
Hmmm... The arab states have already been making moves to counter the Iranian resurgence caused by poor policy advice w/r/t the middle east of the Heritage Foundation (amongst others). It is possible that Mr. Brooks doesn't read even the MSM? The horrifying blunder of removing Irans arch nemesis while adding Iran to the so-called "axis of evil" (thereby compounding the original problem, and creating a host of new ones) have had some astonishing after effects, some of which might prove constructive (if the region doesn't explode before they settle in). For example, it has been reported that the arab states have been meeting regularly to determine how best to band together (sort of an arabian NATO) to counter the rising power and influence of Iran as the new regional power broker. Furthermore, most of the arab states have been using back channels to confer on a regular basis with Isreal. This astonishing turn of events culls from number of factors: 1. The Isrealis (unlike Iran) don't generally go looking for trouble. They are stable, have a tough deterrant in the IDF, and have lots of useful technologies that the arab states would like to take advantage of. 2. The Palestinians are becoming tiresome to the arabs due to their inability to make a deal or even negotiate effectively with Isreal. The Iranians also have been funding Hezbollah and Hamas, who have been doing everything they can to mess up the prospects of the Palestinians making a deal, thereby stabilizing the region. 3. The arabs have been quietly purchasing Isreali irrigation systems, and have since been (gradually) toning down the rhetorical language towards the Isrealis because now that Iran has been put into the position of regional power broker, the Isrealis are being seen as an effective counter to Iran, and potentially a very useful ally (its amazing what self-preservation will do). The arab states started taking these actions well before President Obama even took office, and don't need his encouragement (though it might be welcomed) to take a stong stand - they had plenty of incentive already. Perhaps the Heritage Foundation might be having second thoughts about the wisdom of removing the Iranians biggest threat (which is largely what created this elephant)? It is ironic that it is the Heritage Foundation that is now offering advice on how this president should advise our arab friends on how to counter the problem they helped create. The deployment of Iranian warships (long obsolete by US/NATO standards) into the Arabian sea isn't without plausible reason, as the Arabian Sea is directly in their part of the world, and it was reported that they too have had their problems with piracy. Could they be up to something else? Sure. Is is plausible that they want to protect thier shipping interests and/or be seen as a good global citizen? Sure (the latter is a stretch, of course). As far as the paper tiger comment, that is also loaded with irony: just after 9/11 our allies and adversaries were in awe of American power. Now that the limits of American power have been exposed (at the encouragement of the Heritage Foundation), all one has to do is look at how emboldened our adversaries have become and the few options we have for countering them. A shame... |

So you what would you tell PBHO to do with Iran if you were the NSA?

The error of this analysis is the assumption that Obama is against the Iranians obtaining advanced weapons capabilities. The truth is that because of his close association with various terrorist groups, including HAMAS, he is actually in FAVOR of the Iranian supremacy! (Sick, but true!) The challenge is that the media continues to hide Obama's true heritage (He's Arab!) which allows for his fraudulent outward display! He is a terrorist sympathizer as best. (And, a terrorist at worst!)
The NK addition to the equation makes it far more deadly as NK will do anything to obtain money and oil, including sell WMD's and missiles and technology to Iran! The last part of the equation, "How much of Iraq's WMD arsenal made it into Iran?", is the most dangerous and potentially disastrous. This situation is only going to get worse as long as the truth is held back from intelligence analysts and the military... as well as the public. When it comes to Obama and his true allegiances and intentions, we were sold a LIE by the media and Hollywood celebrities. Obama is a scum bag LIAR! Unchecked, his actions may destroy Israel and world peace for decades to come! Does anyone have the guts to admit it? |

Perhaps a little food for thought: Just a few short years ago, anyone who said anything like this about the president (or otherwise questioned his motives) would've been attacked by the conservatives as anti-America, anti-military, and unpatriotic. |

Good posts.........
As for attacking Obama, as some people do here on this board, just a few short months ago one would have been suspended for the things being said and had they been said about Bush, at least warned. So much for moderator standards and their display of devout ideology and nonadherence to the boards own rules. As for Iran and NK, lets face it, many on the right would just as soon attack both countries. They some how think and believe bombs and bullets are always the answer to a problem. Both Iran and NK know if they attack anyone, it would indeed be the end of both countries as we know them. The response to attacks by either would be massive and total. And as crazy as their leaders are, they understand the game of brinkmanship. In the end, it is almost impossible to demand some country comply with the dictates from other countries. The world will always have some pariah nations who want to march to the beat of their own drum. S/F Gordon ______________________________________________
