RE: http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,89351_2,00.html
vvvvvvvvvv Newspapers should start publishing the names of alleged and former alleged rape victims if they are going to name the accused. If this were done, in many cases one would find people coming forward saying she made up a like story against them in the past that was false, as has come out in the Duke Univ. case. Most newspapers will not even publish the rape victim's name when the accused is found not guilty, what a double standard. How about not publishing the accused rapist's name unless they are convicted? Will your newspaper NOW publish the name of this woman? As Owens was not convicted of rape, the women's rights advocates will claim this is another example of the military being soft on sex crimes. I propose that ALL sex crimes involving military personnel no longer be investigated or prosecuted by the military, but instead by the FBI and Justice Department. The judge and jury would be all civilians. If done, a case like Owens' would have never gotten past a grand jury. Both Owens and the woman should have been administratively disciplined for having CONSENSUAL sex in the dorm in violation of Academy regulations. I would also kick one of them out of the Academy. As to which one, you decide. Commander Wayne L. Johnson, JAGC, Navy (Retired) ----------------------- When I worked for E.I. DUPONT DE-NEMOURES & CO. if two people got in trouble both were fired. As far as the commanders comment; I think the female should get one half of what the male gets in rape cases & there would be less YELLING RAPE I will bet. A lot of women have sex then rethink what they did & then yell rape to clear their conscious. REX |

Would it be possible to provide the troops & war machines with the same type of machine that hospitals use to NEUTRALIZE cell phones?

Dear Editor: I would like this email and the attached derogatorry comments about our servicemen and women serving our country in the Middle East. A good friend andJuvenile Probation Officer with Pima County located in Tucson, AZ sent me this scathing email comment from Paul Porter, a senior P.O.
Respectfully, J M Ramonett Operation Desert Storm Veteran Hi buddy, I just wanted to let you know that your image of the Marine unloading the casket of a soldier killed n action caused alot of controversy here at Pima County Juvenile Correctional Center. The judges here are very anti-military and even after the Army Reserve has offered to open a program to take in 17year old juveniles in lieu of staying at our "country club" Three juvenile judges have barred any military members in uniform to enter our facility. I became good friends with an Army Recruiter that offered some of these kids tha challenge of becoming a part of something bigger. Now this email.......that Paul Porter, a senior Juvenile Probation Officer, emailed to everyone, an absolute insult to those that serve. I've highlighted (in red) what his emailed comments were to the entire staff using our internal computer system. He has fullsupport of the judges and the probation director. It is truly a sad, sad state of affairs. Pauline Thought you’d find this interesting…causing havoc here!!! If you buy this jingoist clap trap drive on while they (you) wire tap our phone and legalize torture. You deserve the government you have. God have mercy on your sole. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Bernal, Jesus Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2006 12:09 PM To: Plank, Kendal; _ALL PCJCC STAFF Subject: RE: Red Fridays -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Plank, Kendal Sent: Friday, September 29, 2006 10:09 AM To: _ALL PCJCC STAFF Subject: FW: Red Fridays Sent: Thursday, September 28, 2006 9:12 AM Subject: Fwd: Red Fridays Subject: Red Fridays Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home. No, he responded. Heading out I asked? No. I'm escorting a soldier home. Going to pick him up? No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq. I'm taking him home to his family. The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days. I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do. Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom. "Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign." Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American. So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do. signed: Stuart Margel -- Washington, D.C. Also, here are two very touching photos honored at this years International Picture of the Year. First Place <http://www.poyi.org/63/11/02.php> First Place Todd Heisler The Rocky Mountain News When 2nd Lt. James Cathey's body arrived at the Reno Airport, Marines climbed into the cargo hold of the plane and draped the flag over his casket as passengers watched the family gather on the tarmac. During the arrival of another Marine's casket last year at Denver International Airport, Major Steve Beck described the scene as so powerful: "See the people in the windows? They sat right there in the plane, watching those Marines. You gotta wonder what's going through their minds, knowing that they're on the plane that brought him home," he said. "They will remember being on that plane for the rest of their lives. They're going to remember bringing that Marine home. And they should." Second Place <http://www.poyi.org/63/11/03.php> Second Place Todd Heisler The Rocky Mountain News The night before the burial of her husband's body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of 'Cat,' and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. "I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it," she said. "I think that's what he would have wanted." PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING! My name is Tim. I am prior service Honaorably discharged 25 years ago. I have been looking at Military.com since I learned about it several months ago, to see if there is anything I can qualify for NOW, at this time in my life, to serve again. Even though I am well over the age limit, If i found something locally I could do to support the troops, I would give it serious thought. Even so, it does distress me to read our media , advertiseing lately , in the world news that our troops comeing home , have no job to come home to. Those who do find work get paid minimum wage, while our politicians give themselves a 3000. per person per year pay raise. How many of them politicians have been to IRAQ. Isn't it time our Comgress clean up our own back yard and let the war handle itself. Politicians should trade places with the troops for a month and live in the dirt like troops have to and eat the same beans out of the can like the troops have to. That might change some things. I love the freedom GIVEN to me to WORSHIP MY GOD as I want to. I understand not every one can do that.

Dear Editor,
The issue of gay's in the military would be a big! mistake! The only way that I see how they could contribute would be in soley Gay Units. One needs to be able to depend on every one in their unit when at war and etc.. I'm a disabled Veteran and I wouldn't want to have to be wondering in the back of my mind if my fellow soldiers would be there if I needed them in battle. signed, M.W.Pearson mwpearson@peoplepc.com |

I was an Army Staff sergeant who served in the mid- 1970's, and 1983- 1997. Having done combat time in the Gulf war, I would not have been at a state of "combat readiness", if I knew there were gay guys expected to watch my back, but instead were watching my backside. There were enough stressful challenges without this issue being added. As a result, I made a choice to terminate my anticipated 20 year career at 17 years. As a young boy, I was a member of the Boys Clubs of America where I experienced sexual advances from an adult- male senior staff member. That was the end of my participation there as well.
The issue of allowing gays free reign so long as they "don't tell" their sexuality, wasn't worth putting myself at risk of being targeted. Maybe in a perfect world, gays would only direct their desires toward other gays- not likely! |

(2) week suspension due to questionable results on profile, possible poser. Dav82nd Jan. 25, 2008 |
It would take is about three or four impeachments to wake all of them up and let them know that the American (citizens) are tired of carrying the excessive high payroll of dishonest and unworthy politicians, Yes! I know we have some very patriotic politicians ! But the blood sucker’s, I am afraid out weigh the true and tried American’s. I am so tired of hearing all this bickering and time consuming rhetoric that goes on in DC. That it almost makes me ashamed to be an American. Why are the American people sitting on there duff’s and letting our country go to the dog’s? It is no wonder that our enlistment is so low. The younger people are taking the lead from those (not all) blood sucking politicians. GOD forgive me for being such a tyrant , but oh! Do I feel better now, |

To: 10047074 AMEN BROTHER, I'm with you.
I would just add: Let's reinstate the Original Constitution; Put everyone on the Same Social Security System that most Americans are on; Let's take power away from Insurance Companies who dictate (yet are not a Government Agencies but rather a "for profit Giant"; Do away with the Electorial College and pick our own candidates; institute Term Limits with no benefits thereafter; and do National Referendums on Important Issues for our Country. Lastly, enforce contracts made with our National Heros who defend us from all perils. What a dream eh? To few of us would fight for Honor, Liberty and Justice. humm it could work and bring about some National Resolutions...what a concept! Signed...a little gal with a big mouth |

Greetings Veterans and active duty Taxpayers,
Have you read the "official" 9/11 report? your tax dollars paid for it. If you have read it, do you like what you see? Think about this if you will, for more than half an hour after the second hit to the WTC, the aledged "flt77" aircraft flew off course and out of contact with air traffic control and headed for this nations Capital and not one aircraft operated by the worlds greatest military power managed to confront "flt77" .... what is WRONG with this picture? And just exactly what was Richard Cheney doing at the time? The taxpayers pay the bills around here, we have a right to ANSWERS! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 9/11 = Reichstag fire! . |

Dear Sirs and Mesdames:
I know our beloved majesty King George W the II and the rest of his cronies aren't too keen on ye olde work ethic. It's better to get someone else to do the dirty work. This letter is in regard to "Bloody Business"--another example of getting over. This is dirty work and we have to do it instead of relying on turd-bird contractors and mercenaries from Chile. It seems that most MOS's are being contracted out to the nearest opportunists. This will make our troops soft and lazy and sitting around at some firebase can't do anything but draw more casualties. Bring back the draft and get some of these blueblooded kids on the front. Then everyone can see how "beloved" war is in this culture. |

I joined the United States Air Force on June 27th, 1956. Retired on November 1st, 1978. I returned to civilian life and obtained a job with the United States Postal Service for seven years and found a position in Saudi Arabia on December 1, 1987. My beef is everyone must pay into the Medicare Program instituted by President Reagan in 1983. I paid into the Medicare Program while working with the United States Postal Service at age 45 until I reached the age of 65. Even though the US Government takes the funds from your monthly check while working, you cannot use the Medicare until you are age 65. The Kicker is since I retired from the Military with 20 years service and should be allowed free medical for me and my family for life as it was mentioned to me by the US Government in 1956, Everyone must pay into Medicare Part B to be insured for a co-pay when seeking medical attention. Would you believe if you decline Medicare Part B, and since Medicare Part A is free, I cannot get medical attention from a Military INstallation hospital unless I have Medicare Part B. Now that I'm on Social Security they take $90 bucks or so from every person over 65 regardless who they may be. I think this is a rip off from our US Governmand being a Retired Military personnel, I think it's unfair for all Retirees' to pay into Medicare Part B. This is unfair and injustice to all Military personnel who fall under this US Government Scheme. I would like to introduce a bill to this effect and present it to the Congress of the United States and appeal this unfair slick move our elected officials has passed on to Military Forces Personnel. Thank you for entertaining my idea.

The continued Rhetoric of "Support the Troops" by this Bush Administration sicken's me... I am a combat veteran of Viet Nam, The VA has not in these past 4 years and 7 months since the Iraq invasion ever supported the Troops.. The Bush gang has made that the Buzz word for its challenge to any opposition to their plans, with unpatriotic... Remember Max Cleland...!! I am neither a Democrat (liberal) or Republican (Fascist), I am an American, and its my Patriotic Duty to voice my opinion loud and clear, its also my right as a COMBAT VETERAN to express my opinion about this misquided Iraq War.. While I supported our Invasion of Afghanistan, and we should have made that PRIORITY ONE, Iraq was not an immediate problem, and only distractesd us from being successful in Afghanistan... Iraq will be a province of Iran if we leave now, where it would have been a buffer to Iran's expansion if left alone... Oil prices in the world might have reached 50 maybe even 60 $, but surely not flirting with 100 $... If we bomb Iran oil will rise to 150 - 200 $ and most Industrialized economies will surely be driven into recession, or maybe worse DEPRESSION... Iran with Nuclear weapons is unthinkable, so was North Korea, but look at the mess in Pakistan...
But lets not sink into a Fascist society out of fear, we are a strong nation united, we are far weaker divided... The Cold War deterent still exists, if anywhere in the world a Terrorist Nuclear attack happens, we should respond with that same strike at all nations that supported Terrorism, and make them VERY AWARE of that.. If the Islamic Terrorist mentality wants to use fear, then they must recognize and fear that their survival and that of their sponsors will be obliterated in Retaliation... |

Well Little Girl with the big mouth.... GREAT IDEA, and keep that mouth working... We have fallen into an elitest society that benefits the wealthy and our elected officials seem to support that idea... They all need to go, Elected Office should not be a Career, its called Public Service, not selfish service... We need to elect those we can believe in, and believe what they say... Bush was elected (well annointed by the Supremes)and he pandered to the voters with a Judas like payment of 30 pieces of silver (silver was 10$ an ounce x 30 = 300 $) that was the tax rebate every taxpayer got, well except those rich'ies they got 10,000, then he pandered to their fears in 2004, when will we be inspired by a real LEADER, god knows we need one now, not a phony leader (phony, thanks Limbaught the phony mouth that always roars)... America can be great again if ony Americans use good judgement next time they VOTE...
