You really expect me to believe that she wrote that? The Obama's don't do anything without a photo op.

While reading this all I kept hearing was the dialogue between Charlie Brown and his teacher.

This artucle really made my day. Until her husband was nominated as a presidential candidate, Michelle detested being an American. And now she wants to replace the Statue of Liberty with a replica of her patriotic self. Give me a break!

Have often wondered where the president-elect and his honey bunny buy their "smokes".

This administration will revert rapidly to the Clinton military philosophy - "Nothing's too good for our boys in the service, so give them nothing".

And under the Conservative Republicans, MRAPs were too good for the troops.

The facts: In Dec. 2003, the troops requested 14,000 MRAPs, specially made vehicles that can deflect IEDs away from the crew.

In 2007, the troops received 1300 out of what they requested. Mind you, IEDs were responsible for 70% of the troop fatalities.

Donald Rumsfeld sais you go to war with what you have. That was why, in this very rich nation, the troops had to dig through local iraqi landfills for their humvee armour.

"My husband and I are deeply grateful for the sacrifices that these families make to protect all American families. And we join them — today and every day — in praying for their loved ones and their safety. They don't ask a lot in return, just a Washington that understands the challenges they face as part of their extraordinary commitment to our country.

My husband understands that commitment, and he will ensure America lives up to its end. As military families join us on Tuesday, in person and in spirit, I want each and every one of them to know that for as long as I have the tremendous honor of being your First Lady, your voices will be heard, you will have an advocate in the White House, and the American promise you preserve always will extend to you, too."

I do not see what is wrong with what she said. Why attack her? She is going to be our First Lady now, and hopefully she will try to live up to what she says.

Big Grin Applause

I also heard her hubby say today " we need a new Declaration of Independence". What's wrong with the old one I'd like to know. It's worked for over two hundred years. Roll Eyes

Im also wondering who wrote that for her as It surely didnt come from the Obama family.
heck, she wasnt even proud to be an American until her husband was running for president and unless she has publicly changed her mind, she also thinks its a "downright mean country"

Her Husband's voting record in his 85 days he actually showed up in the Senate doesnt give me much hope for the future of the military or for Americans like me who pay over 70% of the tax burden.
The whole Chicago sleazy Mafia mentality that persists with all of Obama's close friends and associates shows me that the crowd(made up of Clintoon crooks as well) taking over in Washington wont be a ble to point any fingers as Russia's Putin and Medvedev and cry corruption, in fact, its gonna be a close race to see which country now has the most morally bankrupt and politically corrupt administration.

So far, its neck and neck with neither side showing any signs of gaining on the other.
Add to that Britain's inept government and surrender Sarkozy of France along with the chickens in the EU and the next 4 years should be VERY interesting.

Aggie I agree with you but this is only the beginning. They will attack any and everything the Obama's do and say no matter what it is. Might as well get use to it and just blow it off as partisan rhetoric and carry over from a lost election. Myself, I'll give the man a chance. My hopes are not real high, but certainly not in the gutter like they have been in the previous Administration.

Reading that jib jab blather...
I visioned hearing the theme music from the sitcom "The Jeffersons"...
As well as the song lyrics including "Visions of Sugar Plums Dancing In My Head"...

I'd rather listen to the ramblings of a Snake Oil Salesperson... Roll Eyes

Pretty speech. Wonder who wrote it. She is the new First Lady so lets give her six months and then see how she responds to impromtu questions and decisions. The Nation voted her in, now lets she what she does with it. Wonder if she'll be another hjillary spending 100's of millions of dollars on programs and studies that Congress has no idea of.
As to the "Jeffersons", at least "Weezie" was a woman of stature and character who didn't change her mind in midstream and kept her comments in check.

As a mother, I'll be bursting with pride at the thought of my girls now being able to envision endless choices for themselves

So if Obama would have lost the election their daughters would not have an endless amount of opportunities??, what a bunch of crap. The American Dream exist for everyone, you just have to work for it. Sure sounds like she is the "woe is me" type of person if things don't go her way.

Remember folks, no mistake is to big or to small that you can't find someone or something to blame it on.

She will be a fine First Lady: probably the strongest since Dolly Madison.
