RE: I hope Maliki backs up that ultimatum with action, if the militants refuse to comply. I also hope that it doesn't require a lot of American forces. I would like to see the Iraqi forces stepping forward and taking control on this one.

No wonder "Mookie" al Sadar and merry sadists don't take the Maliki government serious. This sounds like an approach the Maryland government would take against crime.

al Sadr probably has more firepower than al Maliki does. I don't think the national forces will stand up to the Mahdi Army's pressure without US backing.

You DO know that is exactly what the US Government did the last time they confronted Al Sadr right? They paid him up words of 300million for infastructure and weaponsRoll Eyes
