I guess it's the old feelings and lessons learned. Something is going to happen. I feel like "changing my mind or my attitude toward the calm" will result in us getting the zhitz knocked out of us. Old habits die hard. I hope/know these Warriors are reacting the same way. Sergeant Major |

Good job marines. The kind of things the people at home really need to hear. Positive.

Yes, the people in this country need to hear the real story coming from Iraq--problem is--most will not believe it as they depend on their political agenda to overrule their common sense.

Suspending judgement, political agenda and that common sense; you will us all know when it's over? Keep those 'real success stories' coming until then. |

MARINES SAY THEY SEE A SAFER IRAQ
Associated Press March 24, 2008 AL-ASAD AIR BASE. IRAQ – “It’s four in the morning and the convoy is staged and ready to roll. Today’s run has 70 vehicles – 50 trucks loaded with food, water and supplies and 20 military escorts, guns mounted and turrets manned. “…. The course is a 70-mile stretch of desert highway through the oasis hamlet of Baghdadi and out to Haditha Dam, and out to the Haditha Dam, …where the U.S. Marines has been protecting its lifeline for the past seven months ….Supply routes vary, but today’s will be primarily along Bronze, …. Bronze is calm. “…Anbar Province, which stretches to the Saudi Arabian, Jordanian and Syrian borders west of Baghdad, had been the heart of the Sunni insurgency and a bastion of al-Qaida. But Sunni tribal leaders who were fighting the Americans began in late 2006 to turn on al-Qadia, fed up with its brutality and austere brand of Islam. (yes, I am using a lot of quotes, but there is consistency emerging with the behavior of the U.S. Warriors and the Sunni tribal leaders, the general nature of leadership does not have to be brutality and slaughter of children and woman, the Rule By Fear.) One thing is clear, the US Warriors will be gradually begin to return home, and their replacement should be engineers who will help design and maintain an industry of Solar Panel energy for Swap Coolers, not air conditioners which require a lot more costly operations; perhaps, even green house to grow much needed vegetables and fruit. As Americans, we need to grow our own economic partners so we will not exhaust our own resources. There is an opportunity right under the political leaders, but can these political leaders allow the US Military Engineers and Scientists to begin the ground work??? Why military personnel first?? Many people will remember: Cpl. Colbert Rianda: “We are doing something right,…you can see the change.” There were and there are many good military men and officers who will be remembered by these tribal leaders. Therefore, can the Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James T. Conway have the responsibility and the authority to bring in creative military personnel to help the beginning of a changed society? Perhaps. Take care of yourselves, the best may yet to come. 4890952 . |
