This should be open to all of the local veterans as well. I'm sure the local VFW & Legion halls would have some interested takers.

Georgia's not the only place these damn things are at... they tear up everything and are a danger to livestock and humans alike. Happy Huntin' boys!

I was on a ftx training for overseas deployment with GLCM at Fort Huachuca. We were doing our morning stand to and were being attacked by the aggressor force. The next thing we knew, we heard a call go over the radio, "Hold your fire. Their are wild pigs running through the perimeter. It's not the aggressor force." At the time I was a second lieutenant and was in charge of an element. My element/squad leader went to me and said, "Sir, Captain (I'll leave the name out for privacy sake) is out in a fighting position with a broken radio. Do you think he heard the call?" The next thing I heard was automatic fire and a loud, "God Daxxit, Jexxx Chrxxx!! The hexx is that thing????" I grinned and replied to my sergeant, "Yes, I think the Captain definitely knows." Smile

Wish I was stationed closer. I would get a chance to break in my new 30-30 and 12 gauge.

There was a good ol boy by the name of Jed that took care of them critters. But then one day he was shootin' at some food, when up from the ground came a bubbling crude. Oil that is. Texas tea!
Hey maw! Fire up the smoker and I'll get my shootin' iron!

Ok Boys, No grill allowed! Give me a 30/06 a shovel, some woodchips and coals and a secret blend of BBQ sauce with a heafty donation of beer from the local BX and lets get cooking.
BEing a "Yankee" I found it strange that one would burry a hog underground for a day but after I feasted man did life change forever.
To bad them "friends" of ours in the ME dont accept "hog" as an offering from the Lord, they truely do not know what they are missing. Someone does have to bring the slaw and potato salad of coarse......any takers? Oh yeah the $40 a pop isn't bad either.Would make a perfect vacation for any familey..

In California, many years ago, we had a problem with wild boar on Hunter Ligget[sp?] and Camp Roberts. Long story short, the fed and the state offered up special permits to hunt the base. It also required a state hunting license and state hunter safety training. All hunters were checked and inspected by Army and state fish and game personnel at the gate, that's in and out and they were given certain hours to be at the check in points. Wild boar problems solved and the hunters paid for the privilege. Maybe that should be tried here?...

"We did a cost estimate with civilian contractors, but they wanted way too much money for the job," Toon said.

Does anyone see the irony here?
