I'm trying to give credibility to the report.. and failing.. I'm also planning to be sympathetic, provided I ever believe the Islamists's version of events, but I 'spect I'll fail at that too..

A typical response by terrorists, that innocents were killed, no matter that they were supporting these islamists terrorists, and helping arms and feed them. Oh well, I guess they will have to go elsewhere

Never knew a gunship carried bombs, that is a new one on me. As to the civilians, well I still remember what the somali civilians did to the Rangers in Mog, so I personally filled with tears.

If I was ze press, I might be inclined to ask this Shiekh dude how he knew it was an AC-130.

and, no, current AC-130's (Spectres) do not carry bombs. Just a 105mm howitzer, a 40mm cannon, and 2 20mm vulcans. IIRC, the next gen, AC-130U Spooky II, will be capable of carrying various bombs as well, on under-wing racks or somesuch.

Another example of we are fighting a global war against a bunch bent on world dominance. Hitler by any other name is still Hitler.

The retort from the Islamic spokesman was a surprise. I did not know C-130 Gunships bomb too.

The MC-130 does carry bombs.

I never was in agreement of President Clinton's plan of "cut and run" after what the Somali's did. We should have stayed and engaged them and then Somalia wouldn't have turned into a hot spot for terrorism. The war lords ravaged that country and it was a disgrace. al Qaida is rampant there and we have an opportunity to disolve their network with the assistance of ohter governments which is good.

It's eather them or us, no middle ground!

so what big deal ..collateral damage. no one during WWII cared about how many German or Japanese civilians were killed. War is hell get over it

So who do I belive? Sheikh Robow? Not even close! In this war, as in others, the bad guys ARE civilian/terrorists. I say build 1000 more C130 gun ships and use them every night.

I've read it- but as the civilians killed in this latest incident weren't named, there's no way to know whether they were indeed involved. And Blackhawk Down comes from only one perspective, and deals with incidents that happened about a decade ago- not this latest incident. It's a bit like reading an account of the Crusades, and assuming from that HRH Prince Charles personally supported the rape and murder of that poor young girl in Iraq.

Somalia is a pirate sanctuary. They attack civilian ships of any nationality. Claims from that nation should be taken in this light. We need more than just a claim.

They have a Howertzer and a couple other things on a Spectre gunship. I've never seen bombs on one though but the Howertzer will defiantly leave a big hole.
