A brave young woman put in harms way. She has risen to the challenges and is overcomming them. A soldier by circumstance, a hero by valor. Thanks and good luck with the rest of your life.

Jessica appears to be one person who is surviving. I like her daughter's name. It ties in so well with her former best friend's Indian background. And I wouldn't be surprised that she may become a 'mover and shaker' in her later life as her life experiences mold her.

I am pleased with her chosen path and dealing with the issues of daily life.

while her actual citation for the silver star has always been suspected as part of the Army spin machine, she has conducted herself with honor and dignity. I commend her for going back to school and raising a daughter despite her crippling injuries. She has shown herself to be a person of character. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't hear more from her in the future.

No, it was a silver star originally and was only downgraded to a bronze after she asked for it to be downgraded.

The fact that she asked for it to be downgraded says a lot for her integrity.

Wish her all the best in her future and hope that Elementary Education works out for her.

She had a broken arm, broken leg, a broken spine. How was she, And I will bow to your superior knowledge and combat experience, suppose to fire her M-16? I am sure there are a lot of others on this thread that await your answer.

Sorry Guys,

I know you would have liked to chew on him awhile, but I have ZERO tolerance for BS like that.

I wish her and her family good luck, and whether you wish it or no you are one just as is are your friends never forget.A hero is not defined by how they die but how they lived
I stop and at the grave of one of her comrades several times a year Spc. Kiehl she is right at first I saw people at the grave from time to time “But things have definitely calmed down."
God bless and protect all our people in harms way where ever they are.
