Good For Them... A nice place to raise a family...
A heck of a lot better than Fort Drum, NY or Fort Stewart, GA or Fort Polk, LA or Fort Irwin, CA . . . |

Being a military brat from Randolph AFB and a native San Antonian I am glad to see the DoD move additional assets into the city. With the infrustructure currently there and what is to come military members will have no problem being stationed there. Go Spurs Go !!!!!!!

Although never stationed there, I have been to San Antonio three times and loved the place. I'm thinking seriously when making my final move it will be there.
I've been to Ft Drum, Ft Stewart, Polk and Irwin and quite a few other ratholes so I agree. San Antonio, from my expierence, is a great place to be stationed. |

Great for San Antonio. Good choice. I have never been there, since I worked in Houston and was sent to southern Mexico with PEMEX.. I was in USARSO, and that went with dinosaurs, after moving to S.A.

It is misleading to say that "San Antonio benefits from BRAC." The 11000 new Army jobs at Fort Sam Houston do not make up for the 17000 jobs formerly at Kelly AFB and the 2000 jobs to be lost at Brooks City Base. It does, however, soften the blow.
