Didn't AQ do the same thing in Spain prior to elections there, wonder if they'll try something like this here? |

Excerpt from article: "Whoever perpetrated this attack is an enemy of democracy and has used a tactic that al-Qaida is very familiar with, and that is suicide bombing and the taking of innocent life to try to disrupt the democratic process." I fear the answer is when... The Enemy is Here. |

And to think this article is relegated to the all Military Headlines and things like Navy JAG Resigns..., Jailed DI Punished ..., and Driver hits Geren Home ..., are all more important to Editorial Staff at Military.com.
al-Qaida and Taliban extremists had repeatedly threatened her life, but the other Pakistani Opposition Leader Nawaz Sharif is already blaming the ‘rulers’ (Musharraf) for the assassination. I have seen links to the current candidate in the US reacting to this, but I really don’t want to look at them because of what it is likely to do to my blood pressure. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071227/ap_on_re_as/pakistan
But: Hundreds of riot police had manned security checkpoints around the rally venue Thursday. Many of the casualties were police. In fact, she was shot when she left the secure area, standing up in the back of her no doubt armored car and exposing herself to the assassin. She was failed by her own security personnel and lack of security awareness. She was a leader who stood by her convictions and will be missed by both the United States and Pakistan. |

This attack/assasination has the fingerprints of AQ/Taliban all over. Another thing that I think they are trying to do also, is over throw a Nuclear nation, first by tearing it apart from inside, then take over the government and Nucs. And I hope that this does not happen or the whole world is in very serious trouble.

Pakistan’s Bhutto assassinated
Attack jeopardizes elections, path to democracy in nuclear-armed nation RAWALPINDI, Pakistan - Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday by an attacker who shot her after a campaign rally and then blew himself up. Her death stoked new chaos across the nuclear-armed nation, an important U.S. ally in the war on terrorism. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22406555/?gt1=10645 The Nuclear capabilities will have to be closely monitored and the country is now in turmoil |

Maybe so, but it is hard to think what possible advantage we could gain by destabilizing a nuclear power. I am afraid that is a bit out there in tinfoil territory for me. |

As the story goes:
"His appearance came as U.S. officials here struggled to cope with the immense policy implications of the assassination on relations with a nuclear-armed country that has received billions of dollars in American financial assistance and is an ally in the war on terrorism. White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said Bush spoke briefly by phone with Musharraf but the spokesman said he had no details." Better look around, there's more nations invoovled in Afghanistan than the U S. Read a story this A M stating the Brits have contact the Taliban for negotiations. British PM's miffed at Brown and the U S was left out of the loop, very disturbed it went public. So, the war lingers. Longivity is the tool of the terrorist, so a strong government in Pakistan is a must, along with Afghanistan. The Billions you keep complaining about was in guarantee loans, opening markets, lifting embargo, trade and nudging them to peaceful existance with India has been no small matters. Good investments? That's up for you to decide but without the world, (not just the U S) would not stand a chance in hades to combat the Taliban and pressure the Al Qaeda. Musharaff is in the same political and civil war situation as Al Maliki in Iraq. I purpose he sit down with General Petraeus. Get a lot more accomplished. |

Well, though I do not agree with Helez on this (I.E. Bush had nothing to gain kinda thing) our country has supported terrorists (Osama Bin what's his face), ruthless dictators (Sadam, Shar, Boy George...), tried to assassinate leaders (Again, see our former friend Bin What's his name...). It is not a matter of if they do half those things mentioned but when.... I am not saying that it is a bad thing, some leaders need to be "Selectively Removed"... But to say it does not happen.... You would have to be a conspiracy nut... |

WTF??? This is what I have been eluding too ALL along!
The left in this country are becoming more audacious! Helez, you may talk about Jesus and religion, however, I truly believe that, suffer from a serious case of BDS! You can't accept reality, the world isn't a safe and peaceful place! In order to remain safe and secure from these extremes, Islamo-fascists/Terrorists, we need to after these barbaric, heathenous, murderous bastards with EXTREME prejudice! Helez, please, send your prayers to those who fight for your freedom!

Now on to my reply...
Bush said, "Mrs. Bhutto served her nation twice as prime minister and she knew that her return to Pakistan earlier this year put her life at risk, yet she refused to allow assassins to dictate the course of her country." I guess he should have followed that when he decided his troops should invade Iraq out of fear (Note, that does not include Af-Gan, where Bin Laden was, that would be justice....) "President Bush, speaking briefly to reporters at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, demanded that those responsible for the killing be brought to justice and the White House said there needs to be a thorough investigation." Again, what happened to Bin Laden? Good question, we kinda farted in Iraq and someone totally forgot about him.... Oh and a fun fact, the suicide bomber is dead by the way... Kinda hard to bring his body parts to justice... They are cowards (Terrorists), but she knew the price and paid it in full for her return... |
