How absurd that our base commanders are allowing this rubbish. This is THE LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE and we all have Freedom of Religion. The implication of Separation of Church and State by our Founding Fathers was to keep Religious Orginizations and Clergy out of the running of the Government and away from the control of the military. Governments were often in conflict with the churches over control of Government and the military in Europe. At no point should we ever allow ourselves to be categorized with the Terrorists that pervert Islam, nor should we ever try to re-start the Crusades of old where Christians, Jews, & Muslims alike were murdered. We are supposed to be a Free and Just Nation.

This is just like when I was in Japan as a Marine. A few times when ever I had staff duty, we would have to run off RELIGIOUS FANATICS from our barricks who would come in and recruit for thier church. They would ALWAYS sneek in from a side door and go to unsuspecting Marines that were NEW to the unit and Okinawa. And proceed to preach the VERSION of their religion and pressure and throw guilt at NEW YOUNG MARINES into joing thier church. Needless to say it only happen a few times.
I am religious in my own way, spiritualy if need be known. But I TAKE offense to anyone who tries to throw guilt or shame into a young person, confusing them into joining thier SO CALLED CHURCH.
I say practice when and where you like, but do not try to push your religion on me or young NIEVE TROOPS!

It's another form of BRAIN-WASHING!

Onward Christian soldiers....

It's the neo-con influence. They know what religion is good for you.

Actually without going into to much depth on this subject...Separation of Church and State in regards to our Founding Fathers...does not limit members of a particular religion or religious group from being in government ("running the government")but simply restricts the government from "mandating" what religion can and/or cannot be practiced by an individual American citizen.

Don't think you can give all the blame to neo-cons on this one Bill. These critters predate them just a tad bit.

If we, as a Nation, are declaring & in a war against those murderous fanatics, who would force upon others their narrow-minded view of some religion upon the rest of the world's people; then it would be a most hypocritical act to do the same. The relationship between any person & his or her God is a most intimate & private one. Each person will believe or not believe, belong to or convert to whatever religion or sect that they have a mind to, & regularly worship or not according to the needs & desires of their very own hearts. It is really no one else's business, except that one may want to relate to another or group. I believe that the last pope, John Paul II, made that assertion many years ago, when he went to India to attend the funeral memorial to Mother Theresa. The Indian political & Hindi leadership feared any flux of possible conversions of their citizens to Christianity, as a result of his visit. John Paul II allayed their fears by expressing the same thought on this, as I have expressed previously...that each soul will find or not find God as he or she will, & communicate & worship or not by this very same free will. Each man & woman, that serves this nation in our armed forces, must be accorded this very same free will. Any way, just some thoughts on these issues....

The key phrases in here: "May attend if you wish"....."welcome to attend and join in if you like."

FALSE TEACHING !

Heresey to the Christian Faith. Jesus taught peace and goodwill toward all men.

Traitorous behavior by citizens of The United States. The promulgators would best be deported.

A poor decision if these people are allowed to be on any military base.

I am old enough to remember the last time such extremists tried to influence the militaey under the leadership of Sen. Joseph McCarty in the late 1950s.

It is the rise of this neo-facist rhetoric by the prest Republican Administration which has greatly damaged our nation during the past seven years.

I am glad to see Mike Huckabee expressing more rational policies than old "W'.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and PEACE WITH GOODWILL BETWEEN ALL MEN. Beer Smile

This is another case of a leftist group trying to deny reality. They do not understand the difference between a "state church" and a "Christian nation".

If their POV wins the counrty will crumble.

As a Christian, I know that killing is wrong. As a Marine, I say, killing is just when it comes to defense of my nation, my family and my way of life. I dont want to convert anyone, I just want the enemy dead....regardless his religious background. How will this fare when the bullets are flying and these Christian zealots are standing shoulder to shoulder with someone in the same uniform that is a jew or muslim? The only way something like this will work is if we got rid of every other faith in the U.S.....or is THIS the hidden agenda????

The militant evangelicals have already caused enough problems at the Air Force Academy. These people are dangerous.
