I don't believe that at all. Having these people prosecuted shows midshipmen that steps are being taken and that the system put in place to rid the academy of vermin such as these is working. I believe that they will feel safer as a result of the courtmartial decisions.

The best part is that the democracts in congress want to open the military up to all homosexuals, repel the don't ask don't tell regulation.Give all predator homosexuals an open feild in the military. The democrats know so much about active duty military and see no problem with predator homosexuals taking advantage of young service members.Always remember the democratic party supports our troops.

On one hand it's to be understood and accepted and on the other hand it's reprehensible. The victims get caught in the middle.

As a long ago faculty member, I think the present faculty selection process must have some flaws we did not have 30 years ago.

At that time most of the faculty members had more interest in the Mid's mothers than the Mids. That was of course when it was an all male institution.

As our society becomes more liberal, we will continue to have more of these problems. I will conclude with the comment I heard many times during my Navy career. Our job is to protect Democracy, not practice it.

You can bet your 'bippy' these homosexuals weren't advertising. And the midshipmen might not expect them to be there.

But then sodomy used to be a naval 'tradition'. Wink

They are just now figuring out that they need to give the ranking officers the same training that they started giving the enlisted 15 years ago! Enough of the Military protecting crooked officers who commit crimes. If someone is fount to be assisting in covering up a crime they should be charged as an accesssory. I don't know if these Academies can be saved...they've degraded so bad. When I was in the Navy we used to refer to them as Lie, Cheat, and Steal schools because that seemed to be all that cadets learned there. Now we have to change the name to Lie, Cheat, Steal, and Rape school.

I believe the problem is not that the system is actively protecting sexual perverts but by the nature of the Chain of Command, subordinates have less credibility and one on one cases with poor evidence are less likely to be won. The thing I don't like is that such people will crusify someone with poor or little evidence and Command trust will errode as a result. A better system of checks and balences is required to prevent the creeps from getting that high up or doing a 180 mid career.

I think they need to crack down on the ones responsible for allowing such atrocities to continue. True enough that "its the world we live in," comes into play and if someone is apart of the "good ol' boys" they're going to get away with almost everything, but something has to be done about these crimes. To many soldiers are loosing their careers and not having anything good to say about the military due to lack of soldier support. How does the government expect people to want to come forward with abuse cases or even join the military for that matter, if they aren't doing anything or enough about the simple stuff, like listening to and supporting their troops!

One would have thought that 'death before dishonor' might have occurred to this group of officers. I guess 'coming out' is no dishonor.

And why die, when you 'got a lot of livin' to do'?
