Give the guy a break. We all know there's not much-room on a helicopter.

Rules have to be stuck to when you are in the taxpayer's helicopter. This pilot is an idiot and should be un-commissioned as a pilot and not be allowed to serve anymore in the air force. Who knows what he would do in a combat situation ..... go pick more mushrooms for his dead fellow pilots that he let down for some unknown reason. I say he is a case for the head shrink.

Settle down, fella. It's the THAI Air Force...Who cares? You ever been around them, operationally? It's not like they're the epitome of professionalism, or ever will be...
Besides, I kinda like the idea of leaving base and running the Stryker through the Wendy's Drive-thru, with a quick stop at 7-11 for a slurpee...

Actually, I did take a half track, privately owned, through a Burger King drive through.
Yes, it did provoke a lot of stares, laughs and one jack azz that called the local police to complain that the military was misusing public tax money to use a military vehicle for private purposes!
Respectfully, SUNLINER81

In 85… I saw a duce and ½ go though a drive thru pick up window…took the whole thing down! BK was not yet on Bragg…it was a “Burger Bar” or something like that… Big Grin

Break glass…in case of Emergency! Or, just wait till I get to the bottom of the bottle!

Several years ago, didn't some US pilot in Germany, or somewhere, get in trouble for landing the helo and getting some lunch??? I vaguely recall something like this.

Slurpees are awesome! Especially the cola ones. Cherry is OK. A little too sweet...
Just remember to sip yer slurpee while drivin' the tank back to base. You don't wanna get brain freeze and run into anything! Big Grin http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/brain%20freeze

lol. Helicopters are made for errands such as mushroom picking adventures. I wouldn't expect the pilot to get in an airplane to fly to a clearing in the jungle to pick mushrooms for his Mother. He did the right thing by taking a helicopter as it is much easier to land there by helo and a lot less likely to crash into the trees.
The Officer should be commended for doing the right thing, initiative and bravery. Bravery because the "Monster Sky Bird" could have been attacked by the natives. He's got guts and thats what they need in the Thai Air Force and all Air Forces. Give that man a medal!
