About Time! Hopefully the results of the investigations will be made public. Those companies that violated and abused the system should be permanently barred from any future Government Contracts. In many cases most only receive a slap on the wrist, a fine and are barred from further contracts for a year.

Right after we got to Baghdad it was the money no object mentality. Spending was wild. I remember contract for work on the Palace on Camp Victory given out with out any other bids. I don't doubt there was a lot of money made and still being made over this deal. If something other than a slap on the wrist was given, maybe they would be more honest.

I hope the contractors are reading this and take their money and get the hell out of dodge. F#cking Bush administration can pump Trillions of money into Iraq but can't pay a few million to catch those who commit Fraud. Lets catch them now five years later and make them pay a $ small fine and put them under house arrest for 6 weeks. They need to let them serve 15 years in the same prison with a bunch of MS-13 gang members.

HAHAHAHAH HOHOHOHOHO HAHAHAHAH LMFAO

This is a joke they can't be serious! The fact remains, once a contract is signed and cost agreed to by BOTH parties that is the end of it! It isn't the fault of a supplier if the Army, or for that matter any government agency, purchased a roll of toliet paper for $10,000.98, HAHAHAHAHA HOHOHOHO HAHAHAHAH!

Once years ago I had the contract to supply West Point with Pumps for their irrigation system. I purchased the pumps for $500.00 and sold them for $2,500.00 (1) each green in color. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I was the exclusive supplier of these pumps, no one else could bid on them and I got all the business and PROFITS. It wasn't my fault their purchasing agents didn't know the difference between a Pump and a piece of pipe, neither was it my fault they didn't get alternate bids nor was it my fault they selected me as the only supplier. HAHAHAHAHAHAH HOHOHOHHO HAHAHAHAHA Big Grin

The point is gentlemen, our government purchasing agencies are fat a$$ lazy, mindless idiots that don't give a good chit about their jobs. Most of them hate their jobs because they have NO AUTHORITY and are rendered helpless to effect change in any way at their jobs because their bosses have made it that way! Red tape gentlement is the problem compounded by the lazy ba$tards that are in charge. That is exactly the problem.

How then can "We the People" change this system, simple; WHY DON'T WE TRY ELECTING A PRESIDENT AND A CONGRESS that have at least (2) Brain Cell's still firing! If we continue to elect known drug addicts and alcoholics to office and/or draft dodger's and deserters, then this sort of thing will continue to happen! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOHOHOHOH HAHAHAHAHHA. I'm retired now so I don't care, but for those of you still working, and being forced by these 'elected politician numbskull's', to pay the tab ought to care, because it's your money they are throwing away not mine. Big Grin Personally I don't give a rat's a$$ anymore. Wink

DanDaily;
Your right of course. 87% of the Civil Service work force are idiots and incompetent. If you can legally make a $2000.00 profit off of Uncle Sam then more power to you. The contractors that lie and cheat and have no intentions of doing the job are the ones I can't stand. But if I had a choice I'd rather see civil service people go to jail before the crooked contractors.

Where there is opportunity for it, there will be greed and avarice. This article was no surprise, but the offenders that are caught need to be punished severely as an example to others that might consider turning an illegal buck! Popcorn

I don't know how many of you out there are familiar with Warren, Mi. and the area north of Detroit that they are speaking of, but when you begin to here the civilian names of the people involved in these casesyou will be shocked. Some of these are corportations set up by Arabs and given five year tax breaks in addition to government loans. Gov. Jennifer Granholm has been instrumental in aiding these so-called Americans. It's a joke. They have no intention of ever being a true patriot. It's always Arab first. No wonder things in this country are circling the drain.

And I guess Harry Truman was to blame for the U,S. Army over buying of supplies and then the procurement officers selling them on the black market in Europe along with stealing works of art and money to be shipped back to thier compatriots in the states during the occupation of Germany after WWII. And then again with supplies slated for Korea from occupied Japan from WWII right through the Korean conflict. Funny how these leftist liberals forget the things that happened on their watch, especially after they covered them up until the 80's and early 90's. How about the Air Force and Army clubs in Vietnam that made so many wealthy that were in control of those goods and services under LBJ? Army Procurement has always been worse than the other services about money and goods "slipping through the floor boards". I can still remember the out and out waste at Fort Bragg when I was a kid in Fayetteville, N.C. in the 50's. Perfectly good food supplies dumped because it was part of the quota not used in each mess hall for each meal. Still remember a man being shot and killed by Army Guards at those dumps when he tried to salvage some of the packaged food for his family. Procurement is one of the most coveted jobs in the Army. I had a relative that worked in that office at Ft. Bragg in the 50's and 60's. He and his counterparts would go in on the weekends and play poker, on the clock, in order to use up the alloted monies for payroll of civilian employees toward the end of each fiscal year.
In actuallity, this system of spoils was brought to the peak of sophistication by none other than the FDR regime with the WPA, etc.

The Good Old Military/ Industrial (democrat) Complex, ie U.S. Army procurement and the companies they picked. The companies would not get away with it if the procurement Officers/NCO's weren't corrupt already or corrupted by the corrupt Elected Congressional Overseers. The White House does NOT spend the tax monies, unless you happen to be the 1st bi--- in the 90's,. That is the job of the House and okayed by the Senate. Another reason the Line Item Veto is sorely needed.

Call me cynical, but I suspect "the money no object mentality" was in effect before 9/11. The subtext of the entire war on terror is line the pockets of the few.

That's a great place to start since Cheney comes out of that smelling like Chanel No 5. You may wonder why you don't hear much anymore about Cheney and Halliburton from anyone with any credibility ...

Here is why.

So yes, let's start with Cheney and Halliburton. Too easy. Next?

It's a never ending & on-going battle to bring about "Truth, Justice, & the American Way; but it must be done as long as human beings sit at any of the controls of activities & things. This transcends any & all party & institutional lines. One suggestion would be to have all the various service supply systems contracts & orders ultimately flow through one supply logistics authority for final approval, & a streamlined line of accountability down to whatever level of involvement that needs to be audited, investigated, & adjudicated....

How noble of you, how the F do you sleep at night? Screwing over the USA and the rest of us make you feel like a big man? I have worked in defense contracting most of my career, with a philosophy of a fair price for an excellent service. Often I would go out of my way for my cash strapped military customers to do even better (especially my buds in the USMC, who always got the poop end of the budget stick). Shame on you sir, people like YOU are the one who empower our enemies by robbing your own people. Go Cheney Yourself. Mad

When they're done in Detroit, they should send the investigators to see your buds at the Marine Corps System Command. Short end of the budget stick?
