"Iraqi officials maintained 15 civilians were killed, including a woman, a 14-year-old boy and two toddlers."

I have to wonder if we will put on trial those responsible for killing these civilians like we are doing with our Marines that are accused of killing the 24 civilian's? By what standard or principle can we be thinking of, to put infantry on trial for killing and NOT those who fire Artillery or drop bombs from plane's? Dead is dead, how they got dead doesn't matter! What makes a young Marine more guilty of murder of innocent civilian's then someone shooting off a 155, 20 miles away? Sometimes I wonder about our society and our values. We send our young men into war then put them on trial if they lose it and kill someone! This is so much BS it makes me want to puke!

Osama bin Laden scolded his al-Qaida followers in Iraq and other insurgents, saying they have "been lax" for failing to overcome fanatical tribal loyalties and unite in the fight against U.S. troops.

Sounds like OBL has departed from the DNC and has acknowledged that the "surge" has had success.

Welcome to In the News.

Here we begin discussion with a link or a direct reference to a story in the news.

Take a look at some of the existing threads for format.

It's a good idea to introduce your military affiliation for the benefit of the more experienced posters to get things going.

Thanks.

All
This thread, news story, has larger implications.
Osama SEEMS to be admitting the failure of the Iraq front line.
An Osama APPEAL< APOLOGY, is not a trademark of the insurgents.
If the APPEAL APOLOGY is true, then the surge has indeed broken the back of the Iraqi insurgency.
If the decline in IED attack continue, If the decline in market place bombings continue, THEN the next front will be opened.
If the declines continue, the Insurgent troops will have re deployed, to the Osama directed next front in Africa, North Shore.
Remember the initial Osama plan is to establish the Caliphate across the North Shore of Africa coast line, preparatory to attacks on the UE.
We may be seeing the first stage of this re deployment. Watch your six.

Maybe he needs to check the other end of the telephone line. It was cut quite sometime ago and no one is left to hear him.

I guess if they unite there will be enough to form a Boy Scout troop. Then maybe they can get a merit badge for whittling.

Doesn't he get it? He lost on September 11 just like the Japanese lost on December 7 and then they requested that we drop an A bomb on their country. We should back charge them for this expense. Maybe we can get bin Ladle to reimburse us. Razz

I'm happy to see buried in this story about the parade in Ramadi. This is great news! Another sign that "the good guys" are winning and life is being given back to the people of Iraq after being taken away by AQI. Congratulations to COL Charleton and the others of 1 BCT 3 ID.

Well, so OBL is apparently still alive and well. What is so magical about this person that he has managed to remain free all these years although we have spent millions looking for him. If we can find Saddam in a hole in all of Iraq, what not this other person? I believe that if he were captured and made a martyr the network would soon weaken and disintegrate.....my opinion (like belly buttons, everyone has one.)

It seems like the Al Quada people are finally starting to realize that Osama is afraid to come out of hiding and lead his troops. He wants others to fight and die for him. He will be caught it's just a matter of time.

Well, I would just caution all not to get too
sure of our victory over terrorism yet. This is simply a war which these muslim jihadists have envisioned for a thousand years and more, and still looks to "the crusades" as an example to be followed.

Osama, to me, is just a rather unimportant figurehead. Alive or dead, he will make no real, practical difference. Spending all the time, power, and money to get him I would suggest is just another silly fantasy worthy of Nancy Polosi's and Hillery's crowd of freaks.

Having this enemy divided by their various "religious" opinions of course must be one bright spot in their savage effort.

The real question of course, is why, suddenly, after these many centuries, has this become so serious and dangerous? The answer is, the OIL.
The OIL FUNDs these terrorists. THAT should be our target to destroy or capture and use, in my opinion.

Russia would not build a nuclear bomb facility for Iran that they could not PAY for with hard currency. China, North Korea, "the world" would not sell arms without hard treasure as payment.
All that comes from the oil.

Whats more, the oil is the ONLY economic leg on the chair of this Jihad. Without it, these morons would disappear back into the deserts and their tents, to dream for another few thousand years.

My opinion.

Agree with you 100%. Like many generals of wars past, he expects his troops to die at his command without so much as facing the enemy himself. He knows what would happen if he showed his face. Can't help but think how much daily fear he must face, having to stay in hiding, never knowing who will turn him in for the cash reward. OH WELL, I ALMOST CARED THERE FOR A MOMENT! NOT!!

i'm thinking the Iraqi government could learn from Osama's message...to unite or else sh*t won't work out.
They(IG) praise the military for killing sunni's, but ***** up a storm when shites are targeted. Even Osama knows you can't accomplish anything unless your united, so wtf is the IG so f^cking stubborn about? United they(IG) win, divided they fall

well we got saddams family tree and just started getting to them, and they informing on his possible hideouts. But with Osama, noone will rat him out because to them he is a living Mohammed or whatever. The poor dumb bastard would rather live running from cave to cave, then to actually carry out what he preaches.

There is no way the insurgents will unite in any shape, form or fashon. The day that happens is that day hell freezes over.

Use caution --- olde OBL is up to something. Not like him to scorn his people. To scorn them is a trigger of some kind???

Keep in mind that 911 was bought and paid for with American dollars in American banks by Al-Dorkia.
