RE: http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,13319,151595,00.html

Increased numbers of females in the service is a danger that threatens our combat effectiveness.

Sure it is a great career. BUT if too many support jobs are filled by females it will result in more men unsuitable for combat leadership roles leading troops in the field.
Esprit, morale, and combat efficiency will be further eroded.

Filling today's quotas with women and men of lowered standards is a bad omen for the future.

Very few women posess warrior characteristics:
and wars are won by warriors !

Goes to show you how many women here in the US are finally stepping up and want to fight for freedom. Hopefully most get combat roles but we all know most will get the "desk" job and not prove their worth but get a great education and get out when the time is right

Well..., Let's See...

We have Female Warriors flying Apache Helicopters, F-117s (fighter Bomber), F-16s (Fighters), and a host of other airframes that go into Harm's Way...

Female Warriors filling Military Police, Psychological Operations, Interpreter Positions "all to most" outside the Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) or Combat Support Areas (CSAs)...

NOTE. SSG Hester, Military Police, of Kentucky Army National Guard, is a recipient of the Silver Star Award, for Valorous actions in Combat.

GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME

No disrespect meant to you or your service, helez, but if ever I spotted faulty logic, this post is it.

Try again.

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause.

Still living in the past, even if you are too young? You just might have a hard time finding a suitable partner that is your equal. So, is that why you went back to grad school, to find a mate? Have a good day!~! Wink Cool

I haven't heard that one since I was in over 30 years ago, when female marines were called Woman Marines and had a W in front of the SSN to show gender! You really made my day with that ancient comment!

Can someone explain the logic of this statement? How exactly will women in support jobs effect men in combat leadership roles leading troops? Confused

It was a joke. In fact, I'm in favor of allowing women into combat roles. It will come one day.

What an IGNORANT thing to say! You are a hyprocrite!
I know plenty of females who are good leaders! Just because they can't be in the Infantry doesn't mean that can't lead soldiers in combat with support branches!
You really are an ignorant person! Why do you post such pathetic garbage?

I don't care if 10 million women join our military service tomorrow or next month. As long as they kill, kill, and kill the insurgents I am happy.
