Well, this comes as a real shock! Who would have ever thought another delay was in the offing? Wonder what the excuse will be when July 08 rolls around?
As far as the areas that have been turned over to the Iraqi's, Kurdistan with its own military, police and central government and who want nothing to do with Iraq, and the Basra areas already controlled by the Shiia and their buddies the Iranians...yep, we're securing Iraq. All we are doing is destabilizing the central government and preparing the Sunni and Shiia for the ultimate showdown. Wonder what kind of excuses we will hear when that happens?
Here we begin discussion with a link or a direct reference to a story in the news. See some of the existing threads for format.
Take a moment to check out the Read and Heed and the TOS of this site. It's a good idea to introduce your military affiliation to the more experienced members to get things going.
Thanks.

Expecting them to go with you to learn how to fight by watching, and then by taking them to the fight and rootimg them on to victory works great if the 'fight' is a ball game, and you hit Mickey D's on the way home.
Wars are something different, they're real learn-by-doing experiences.
The Iraqis are just being smart. They wouldn't normally be fighting and killing each other. Americans are in Iraq fighting and killing and want them to 'take over'. Why would they want to do something like that? Act stupid and they'll do it for you, or they'll give up and go away.
There is noway we can force the people of Iraq to fight or quit fighting. Hatred and mistrust is their way of life. The oil is the only thing they have going for them and we will not let Iran take over these oil fields which they will do as soon as we pull out. So what if they divide into seperate states? I don't think you can forece our way of life on them now or in the next ten years.
The announcement is the only the latest in our disappointment with the progress in Iraq. Stability operation cannot be measured in the election cycle of the US. I don't see how an American President can ever be believed by a strong majority of voters again, if he says, "it will be short", "our allies will help us", etc.,etc.. If this War on Terror is generational, it had better have nothing to do with occupations of large, disparate populations, for prolonged periods. No president can find a majority for that.

You've bought a load of somebody's home-made SH-1-t.
