Geez, all that press and they didn't even mention that they are likely wearing them backwards, too.

Oh well...

Maybe the Jihdais are trying o sabotage the America under- and swim-wear markets by flooding it with cheap Gitmo 'knock-offs'.

I had expected this report to have been about panties, or thongs, as at least one on those had been 'standard' issue at one time.

Perhaps it was some sort of gay thing. "Don't you think Achmed looks divine in the black boxers Ralph?"

On the same model as matter and anti-matter, perhaps he is going "anti-commando". Cool

This is ridiculous !

It would be funny if Guantanamo were not a sordid blot on our nation. Indefinite incarceration without evidence or legal remedy is NOT in the tradition of democracy nor are the horrendous conditions under which these prisoners are held.

An administration that concerns itself with such trivia as proscribing underwear is ludicrous. It reminds me of the story of the emporer or king or president running around in the buff and all his subjects were afraid to tell him.

Incidently; what kind of underwear is prescribed or are these prisoners also denied the civilized right to wear underwear ?

I heard somewhere that the VEEP recommended burlap Jockey briefs between surf boarding; NO, my mistake; waterboarding recreational periods. But he was overruled by higher ups who prescribed the women's briefs returned from Iraq . Eek

If Helez and Popzig wern't so busy trying to find fault with the United States government and its policies at Gitmo they would see that this is a serious issue. Smuggling ANY contrband into a prison facility is serious business. The mere fact that the media is making light of it shows that they have no concern for the guards' safety. If you look back to when the simple search of a prisoner overlooked a weapon, a fine CIA operative was killed by one of these scum. But, I'm sure that Helez and Popzig would find that the prisoners rights were somehow being violated. By the way Helez, it is stated in the article that they wear briefs since you seemed so interested in that fact. Groovy Lady, it is always so nice to have your input on these posts. I enjoy reading what you have to say on much of the topics.

I totally agree with your sentiment, but the question does come to mind as to why underwear was the item of choice for smuggling. If it turns out that only underwear was smuggled in there is not only a serious problem, but a pretty strange one as well.

Yes rkgtactical, you being the brief expert: Jockey briefs, Hanes briefs, burlap briefs, or female briefs ?

The point is that denying prisoners their legal rights is bad; but denying them personal items as harmless as underwear is perverse. Wink
