Obama said the U.S. and the Iraqi government should discuss how to go about withdrawing troops.

"We must get out strategically and carefully, removing troops from secure areas first and keeping troops in more volatile areas until later," Obama said in prepared remarks. Key excerpts were obtained by The Associated Press.

This guy is an idiot. Who is he getting his military advice from? Custer, Pickett?

At least he is unafaid to reveal his ignorance.

Can't wait for his outline to come up in the next "debate".

The Democrats have a terrible history when it comes to managment of the military in the past 40 years. What have they done to prove they've learned their lesson?

Anybody know when the Dems are going to put timetables on solving other problems, such as healthcare, unemployment, and higher costs of living? Seems to me the last Democratic President made those promises, and didn't do anything the 8 years he was in office.

We took out the Iraqi government, so we have to rebuild the Iraqi government, and our troops need to stay there until that's done. Anything else would be illegal under international charters, and would lessen the sacrifices of those who died or were wounded for Iraqi Freedom.

By arguing that only combat brigades should be withdrawn - there are 20 in Iraq, including five President Bush sent January - Obama appeared to suggest that other U.S. troops could remain.

Just a question, if we pull out all of our combat troops, why would we need our combat support and service support units? They are there to support the combat forces so shouldn't they come home as well?
What an idiot plan

I think Obama must have missed that small insignicant meeting about "Logistics". There is no way in hell we could start removing 2 full brigades a month, there's just not enough Maritime Assests available to handle the load (you figure in just the ocean travel time of 4 or 5 MPS ships...and there is no way we could keep up with that timetable..even with air assests). unless of coarse we started leaving large amounts of vehicles behind, and supplies (Ammo, MREs, Medical Supplies, POL,)for example.
Then it would be possible...tight, but possible.
Logistic People! Learn it! Know it! Live it!
Oh, by the way, all this equipment will have to be "washdown and inspected" before being able to enter the United States again (looking for bad little critters ya know, so we don't destroy our own crops with them).
Just think of ALL the equipment that was left behind in Vietnam when we left there...Acres upon acres of equipment..almost like a D-Day preinvasion depot. And how many helicopters were pushed over board to make room for more landing? Of coarse that was in the last days.
Well, somebody better be planning this thing..that Knows what he/she is talking about..and do a better job than the actual invasion plans. 4 years of build up is a lot to remove.

Jimmy was the man when I served and he destroyed our morale and you are right! The Demo's like to talk (out of both side of their face). We need a strong leader. Obama sounds to much like Osama and we already had eight years of Billary of whom I blame 9/11 on by the way!
Nobody pays my bills so I got to go,everyone have a blessed day and this afternoon I have to go to the VA. Lol
Eek
Thanks to all the one percenter's serving our country! Most of US appreciate what you are doing to keep US safe here at home,at least I do! God bless and bring you home safe.

Thank you.

I've got to agree with you guys. I'm fairly independant, but the democrats really don't seem to have any plan for Iraq, or more importantly, the greater GWOT.

hmmm, maybe he's thinking about only keeping the "Army of One" generation in Iraq. Big Grin

OK, so, then there'd be one Army guy to hold the fort in Iraq and protect all of Western Civilization. hmmmm, wonder who that will be. Big Grin Razz Roll Eyes

It's very apparent that we're going to have to win this war without Democrats.

I heard him say that on the 'Today Show' this morning, and wondered the same thing.
