I think we need to figure out the real meaning of why this man would do this. Perhaps intense counsling and medication. After all the young girl in this is not the only "victim". How as a society have we affected this man. He does not need jail time he needs "help"!! He needs our compassion!!! He needs a bullet in his temple!!!!

A number of military men have already been on the show "to catch a predator". This guy is not the first to do something like this and will not be the last.

The only problem I have is they keep throwing up the fact the guy is in the military. Reguradless if he was in the military or not, this is a man that got caught having sex with a minor. But the press keeps putting out he was in the military like they puroposly sent him to Australia to do such an act. The US Military doesn't give training in how to have sex with minors. If he worked for Microsoft, Sony, Sears, even the US Post Office nothing would been said about his job. This is a sick person to be having sex with minors. Though the simple fact is the press needs to seperate his job from his actions.

Of course if we include the number of US and NATO service people that actually engaged in sex with teenage prostitutes in Europe throughout the 90s his actions would pale by comparison.

And we should apologize...why? The man is in the Navy BUT...the Navy didn't train him to be a sick arse who wants to jump little girls. All apologies should come from him personally and the US government shouldn't be involved. While the US military is a cross section of the US population.... neither the US nor the military is responsibile for his sexual predator nature.
